Texas Southern (0-2) attempted 13 field goals in that period and made none. The visitors shot 8-for-55 from the floor overall and committed 38 turnovers, which allowed LSU to score 55 points off the mistakes.

She went 6-for-7 from the field in eight minutes of play during that interval, including three three-pointers. Freshman Anna Minaeva led all scorers with 21 points. Mikaylah Williams added 20, and her fourth three-pointer of the second quarter extended the LSU lead to 65-13 at halftime. ZaKiyah Johnson finished with 17 points, while Grace Knox and MiLaysia Fulwiley each scored 15. Lola Lampley contributed 10 points. Seven Lady Tigers reached double figures.

Jayla Cornelius led the Texas Southern offense with six points. The loss marks the second consecutive game in which LSU has scored more than 100 points. The team improved to 7-0 against Texas Southern in all-time play.

Angel Reese, the team’s former All-American and the 2026 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, received flowers on the court.
