Vanessa Trump, 48, confirmed on Friday that her recent medical tests returned clear results, ending her public battle with breast cancer. The former wife of Donald Trump Jr stated in a video that the outcome allows her to declare herself cancer-free.
She shared the update via a short clip posted to the Instagram account of her 19-year-old daughter, Kai. In the footage, Trump said her tests "came back clear, so I'm finally cancer-free." The post drew more than 20,000 likes and hundreds of comments from followers offering support.
Kai Trump used the caption to preview a longer video scheduled for release on Saturday. That feature will discuss breast cancer awareness, prevention, and the family's journey with the disease. She noted that she sat down with her mother and Dr. Nicole Saphier to explore early detection strategies.
Trump first received the diagnosis in April. She made the news public in May, revealing that she had already undergone surgery and was developing a treatment plan with her medical team. She has five children with Trump Jr, the eldest son of President Donald Trump.
The American Cancer Society provides context for the diagnosis, noting that the average risk for a woman in the US developing breast cancer is roughly 13%, or 1 in 8. The organization reports that the disease accounts for 30% of all new female cancers annually.
Medical data suggests that surgery cures most cases of breast cancer. When residual disease remains, treatments such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and endocrine therapy can reduce long-term risks. The field continues to see advancements in targeted therapies for early-stage cancer and more precise radiotherapy options.
Trump separated from Trump Jr in 2018. Last year, she announced the start of a relationship with US professional golfer Tiger Woods.
