Mary Trump, the niece of President Donald Trump, accused her uncle on Wednesday of engineering a plan to manipulate the upcoming midterm elections. In a post to her Substack newsletter, she labeled the effort a "SCAM" and described the situation as a "five alarm fire." She stated that this is the most important election of their lifetimes.

The criticism focused heavily on Attorney General Todd Blanche, whom Mary Trump called a "sycophant the likes of which I have never seen before." Blanche has indicated that the Justice Department is open to the idea of blocking states from certifying their election results. He simultaneously maintained that the department does not intend to "improperly interfere with elections."

Mary Trump argued that Blanche will not rule out interference because he needs to keep all options open. She wrote, "His boss is not the American people. His boss is Donald." She claimed that Blanche must do everything in his power to keep the president in power so that he can stay in power and abuse that authority. She added that the end result is that Americans have fewer and fewer rights every day.

The niece tied the political stakes to financial interests. She stated that Donald Trump's family has made billions through business and cryptocurrency ventures. She noted that wealthy allies and donors have benefited from an administration that makes decisions based on how much money it can make them and their cronies. She argued that losing power means losing access to the machinery that makes this arrangement possible, along with the accumulation of massive wealth.

Mary Trump also addressed the president's history of claiming U.S. elections are "riddled with fraud." She pointed out that evidence for such claims has failed to surface over the years. She emphasized that his talk of "fraudulent" elections only emerges when Democrats win.

She referenced a recent Washington Post report stating that current and former national security officials are privately advising states to prepare for administration interference. Mary Trump wrote that the regime is making it plain that it will do anything in its power to steal the election from the American people. She described this action as happening clearly, openly, and right in their faces.

In the final section of her post, she declared that it is "all hands on deck." She urged Americans to vote by Nov. 3. She wrote, "I need you to act like your rights depend on it, because they do."
