The Detroit Lions secured a 19-15 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, ending the host team's winless streak that had persisted since November 30, 2025. Jared Goff threw a seven-yard touchdown pass to Jameson Williams with 4:35 remaining in the fourth quarter to seal the result. The score marked the first loss for the Vikings in the current season.

Jahmyr Gibbs led the Detroit offense with 153 rushing yards. He broke a tackle for a 30-yard touchdown in the third quarter, providing the momentum that allowed the Lions to stay within striking distance. Goff finished the game 18 of 25 for 176 yards, throwing one touchdown pass and his first interception of the season. The Lions improved to a 5-2 record, extending their winning streak to three games.

The Vikings offense struggled against the Detroit defense, managing only 81 rushing yards. Quarterback Kyler Murray completed 17 of 29 passes for 210 yards. He threw two touchdown passes and one interception. The team's lack of rushing production limited their ability to control the clock in the second half. The Lions' defense forced a punt on the Vikings' first drive of the game following two taunting penalties by receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.

The game featured several close calls that did not result in points. St. Brown's potential touchdown catch was reversed after a review indicated he did not secure the ball before falling. Jake Bates missed a 46-yard field goal attempt early in the third quarter, hitting the left upright. The Vikings held a 15-12 lead midway through the fourth quarter after Kyler Murray connected with T.J. Hockenson on an eight-yard pass and Jordan Addison on a two-point conversion.

Minnesota coach Kevin O'Connell opted to go for it on fourth-and-five from the Detroit 25 in the second half, but Murray's pass was incomplete. The Vikings also faced injuries during the contest. Safety Theo Jackson suffered a quad injury. On the Detroit side, linebacker Jack Campbell was carted off the field on a backboard with a neck injury. Safeties Brian Branch and edge rusher DJ Wonnum were evaluated for concussions after a collision late in the second quarter and did not return to the game.

The Vikings will host the Buffalo Bills on Monday, November 9. The Lions travel to Miami on Sunday.
