Hunter Eichhorn has secured his PGA Tour card for the 2027 season, a move that grants him entry to the top tier of professional golf. The Carney, Michigan, native achieved this status by finishing 12th on the season-long points list for the Korn Ferry Tour. The top 20 players in the final standings earned membership for the upcoming year.

Eichhorn’s qualification was driven by consistent performance across 25 starts on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2026. He made the cut in 19 of those events and recorded nine top-10 finishes. His consistency resulted in $404,014 in official prize money for the season. He accumulated a final score of 1,190.452 points, a total that placed him comfortably inside the cutoff for PGA Tour membership.

His most successful result of the year came in May at the Visit Knoxville Open. Eichhorn finished as the runner-up in that tournament. He closed the event with a 61 to finish the competition at 25-under par. He also recorded three top-five finishes during the 2026 season. He capped his year at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship in Glen Allen, Virginia, where he finished tied for 49th. His rounds at the championship were 71, 68, 71, and 73 for a four-day total of 283, which was 1-under par.

Eichhorn is the first player in Marquette University men’s golf history to earn PGA Tour membership. He played five seasons for the Golden Eagles from 2017 through 2022. During his collegiate career, he was named Big East Player of the Year three times. He earned first-team All-Big East honors four times and was selected to the PING All-Midwest Region team five times. He won six collegiate tournaments, including Big East individual titles in 2018 and 2021.

The golfer holds several program records at Marquette. He is the career leader in scoring average at 71.38. He also holds the program records for strokes versus par, counting scores, and rounds at par or better. He set a school record with an 11-under round of 61 at the 2022 Puerto Rico Classic. He became the only golfer in program history to compete in four NCAA Regionals.

Eichhorn earned full-time Korn Ferry Tour status for 2026 after winning at the second stage of PGA Tour Q-School in December 2025. He entered the season-ending championship in Virginia with his position on the money list already secured. "I'm close. I know I need to stay patient and keep working on the right things," Eichhorn said before the final rounds. "I feel close, and I'm excited to get to work this offseason and prepare for next year."

The Carney native began playing golf on a nine-hole course in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. He learned the game while playing with his grandfather. "It was just kind of the experience of playing together," Eichhorn said. "When you're a kid, you just kind of absorb everything. So just learning through that, from him, was very cool."

Eichhorn said his time at Marquette influenced his professional approach. "You know, Coach really helped level me out and helped me understand that we're not perfect, even though we all want to be, especially when it comes to playing golf," he said. He will begin his 2027 PGA Tour season as a full member.
