Salvation Army of Milwaukee County will distribute free toys to families on Dec. 15 through Dec. 18. The program, known as Toy Shop, serves residents who are custodial parents, guardians, caregivers, foster parents, or grandparents. Children must be age 12 or younger to receive a gift.
Registration opens at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 2. Families can sign up online until Nov. 29. Those who prefer to register in person can visit select Salvation Army locations on Milwaukee’s North and South Side. Staff at these sites set their own dates and times for walk-in sign-ups.
Participants must present proof of identification, residence, and the child’s age during the process. The organization suggests that parents do not bring their children to the registration appointment. If someone else registers on a family’s behalf, that person needs their own ID, a letter of permission from the parent, and an explanation of why the parent cannot attend.
The program is entirely free. No cost is charged for the toys or the registration. Families can reach out for more details by emailing outreachmke@usc.salvationarmy.org. The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County manages the distribution and eligibility checks for this seasonal event.
The toy distribution dates are fixed for the last week of December. Families must complete registration by the end of November to ensure they are included in the Dec. 15 to Dec. 18 window. The organization will provide specific instructions once the registration link goes live next week.
