More than 350 people sent in entries for the latest edition of the We Energies Cookie Book. The utility company selected 38 of those submissions to include in the 2026 release. The collection carries the theme "Baking Spirits Bright." It marks the 98th year of the annual publication.

The cookie book started as a simple marketing tool and grew into a seasonal staple for many households in the state. Generations of Wisconsinites have built personal libraries of the pamphlets. We Energies spokesperson Amy Jahns said families often use the recipes to start their holiday baking routines. "Families have told us it's become a way to kick off the holiday season," Jahns said. She noted that people keep the books as collections and enjoy the ritual of baking together.

Jahns also described the festive atmosphere around the release. She said customers visit drive-thrus wearing holiday sweaters and playing Christmas music. "They crank their holiday tunes," Jahns said. "They have on their holiday gear and their nice Christmas sweaters, and they have so much fun."

The 2026 edition features specific treats like two variations of the classic sugar cookie and a crispy oatmeal cherry cookie. The remaining recipes cover dozens of other holiday items. All 38 featured recipes were submitted by current We Energies customers. The company chose these entries from the pool of 350-plus submissions received earlier this year.

The 2026 We Energies Cookie Book becomes available online on Monday at 8 a.m. Readers can access the full collection through the company's digital platform. In addition to the digital release, the utility will offer free physical copies at various locations throughout the month of November. These in-person distribution points will give customers another way to obtain the publication.
