Eric Cantley Lundberg died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, at his home in Harper Woods. The 62-year-old man had been a former resident of Grosse Pointe and worked in private security for multiple firms in southeast Michigan.
Lundberg was born on July 3, 1963, in Los Angeles to Wilford and Carolyn Lundberg. He spent part of his childhood in Montana before moving to Detroit in the summer of 1974 with his twin brother, John. The two siblings developed a strong connection to the city's history during that move. Lundberg attended The Grosse Pointe Academy, graduating in 1978, and later completed high school at the University of Detroit Jesuit High School in 1982. He finished his undergraduate education at Michigan State University in 1987.
Colleagues described Lundberg as a protector by nature and a gregarious presence who often brought smiles to others. He remained an active athlete throughout his adult life, playing hardball in competitive leagues until his early 40s and maintaining an interest in basketball.
Lundberg is survived by his brother, Seth Lundberg, and nephew, Nick Lundberg. He was predeceased by his parents and his twin brother, John.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested that thoughts and prayers be offered for the Spartan Nation and the Detroit Tigers.
