AEG Presents released the first 11 concert dates for Moonline on Monday, confirming the venue will open its doors in February 2027. The announcements come one week after the company unveiled the lineup for its larger, 4,000-capacity neighbor, United Heritage Hall. Moonline will occupy the space currently used by Emo's, a venue that is relocating back to its original downtown location after operating in the Riverside area for over three decades.
The new 1,500-seat room is currently undergoing renovations that include updates to the sound system, green rooms, and backstage areas. AEG states the venue will be ready for its inaugural season after these upgrades are complete. The programming strategy differs from the larger hall, focusing on a mix of alternative, hardcore, and indie acts alongside select mainstream pop and hip-hop performers.
The opening schedule spans from mid-February to late May 2027. Early dates include a Talking Heads tribute act, HeartByrne, on February 13, followed by the Los Angeles band Bad Suns on February 17. Pop singer Chelsea Cutler is scheduled for February 26. The March lineup features British progressive metal band Haken on March 4, Chicago indie rock group Beach Bunny on March 6, and metalcore act Currents on March 12.
Later in the spring, the calendar includes veteran emo and punk band Saves the Day on March 24. Hardcore groups Gorilla Biscuits and Terror will share a bill on March 31, while Houston rapper Paul Wall is set to perform on April 2. The month concludes with vintage covers group Postmodern Jukebox on May 22 and indie singer Blondshell on May 26.
Robin Phillips, the Southwest Region VP for AEG Presents, described the goal in a press release. "This first run of shows is exactly what we wanted Moonline to be: a room where a hardcore show, a pop show and a Houston rap show all feel at home in the same month," Phillips said. The executive noted that the calendar was built to reflect the diverse musical history of Austin.
Fans can secure tickets for most of these events during artist presales starting Thursday, October 29. General public sales begin the following day, October 30, at 10 a.m. via moonlineaustin.com. Beach Bunny is the exception to this timeline, with its presale scheduled for November 12 and public sales opening on November 13.
Moonline and United Heritage Hall operate as separate businesses despite shared ownership. The two venues are located approximately one mile apart. While both will host national touring acts, Moonline is positioned to serve audiences seeking more alternative genres compared to the mainstream focus of the larger, newly constructed hall.
