Shawna Gramkow, a social media personality with more than 50,000 followers, was charged with felony unlawful wiretapping on October 20. Massachusetts police allege she recorded a private conversation without consent and published it to her Instagram account.

The incident traces back to August 6, when Christopher Clancy, father of the late Patrick Clancy, answered a call from an unknown number while driving in the Town of Scituate. Police reports state that he did not realize the line remained open, allowing the caller to record him discussing his eldest son, Brian. Gramkow later posted the audio on August 30, noting in the video that Patrick Clancy's father was still on the line and mumbling.

Christopher Clancy reported the event to law enforcement on September 4. He told investigators he accidentally accepted the call from an unfamiliar number and recognized his own voice in the recording. Police documents describe the caller as an unknown party who proceeded to capture his comments without his knowledge.

The wiretapping charge arrives during a period of tension between the legal teams representing Lindsay Clancy and her ex-husband, Patrick. In Norfolk County Superior Court on Wednesday, attorney Howard Cooper stated he expects Lindsay Clancy to testify in Patrick's lawsuit against her healthcare providers. Cooper claimed she will state that she explicitly told medical staff she had homicidal ideation and was worried about something awful happening to her children.

Kevin Reddington, Lindsay Clancy's attorney, disputed that characterization in a written statement. He said his client has never indicated she intends to testify in the civil suit. Reddington added that Lindsay Clancy never told her healthcare providers she harbored homicidal thoughts toward her children and that Patrick's counsel does not speak for her.

Gramkow has not been arrested in Florida, though Massachusetts officials filed the charges. In a Facebook video that did not directly address the wiretapping case, she called the allegations false and easy to prove. She also wrote that she obtained the detailed facts of the situation.

The legal disputes stem from the deaths of Patrick and Lindsay Clancy's children, who were found strangled at their home in January 2023. Lindsay Clancy faced three counts of first-degree murder. Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial on September 4 after the jury deadlocked 11 to 1.
