The Chicago Blackhawks introduced a new set of green alternate uniforms on Monday night during a game against the Colorado Avalanche.

The design is based on the green feather in the team’s primary logo. The shoulders feature the alternate crossed C logo, and the sleeves display four embossed stars, mirroring the Chicago city flag. The secondary color is tan rather than white, and the collar is black with tan laces.

These new garments are part of the Hometown Remix collection, a series of alternate jerseys released by Fanatics for all 32 NHL teams. The league previously banned specialty warmup jerseys in 2023, ending the era of the green sweaters the Hawks used to wear for St. Patrick’s Day. Fans often wore those older versions at games, and they were generally well-received.

Reaction to the Monday release was tepid. Many observers noted that the new design is nearly identical to the retired St. Patrick’s Day jerseys. Others pointed out strong visual similarities to the regular home jerseys worn by the Dallas Stars. In a broader context, several other teams in the NHL received praise for more distinct looks in the same release, including the Florida Panthers’ pink Miami Vice sweater and the Anaheim Ducks’ Mighty Ducks design.

The Blackhawks have released multiple new uniform sets recently. The team wore special red Centennial jerseys last season and debuted new black throwback jerseys last November that are still in rotation this season. On Monday, the players also wore brownish-tan gloves that some fans noted positively.

The team will wear the new green jerseys again on December 29 against the Vegas Golden Knights. They are also scheduled to wear them four times between March 8 and March 16, leading up to St. Patrick’s Day. The Hawks typically wear their black alternate jerseys on Fridays.
